Cara Palermo, FNP
Family Nurse Practitioner, PROVOKE Health
Cara Palermo, FNP, a valued member of the healthcare team at PROVOKE Health in Tampa, Florida, serves as a family nurse practitioner (FNP) specializing in medical assessments and IV infusions for patients grappling with complex and chronic health conditions. With over a decade of hands-on experience in diverse healthcare settings, her focus also includes collaborating with our doctors to identify and address the root causes of our patients’ illnesses.
Originally from Florida, Cara has called the Tampa area home since 2003. Her personal health journey led her to our founder, Dr. Matt Lewis, after years of conventional medical treatments. Experiencing a transformative improvement in her health, Cara shifted her focus to functional medicine — a discipline that seeks to identify the root causes of illness.
Cara’s educational journey began with a bachelor’s degree in gerontology from the University of South Florida (USF) in Tampa in 2007, followed by another bachelor’s degree from USF in nursing three years later. In 2019, she earned a master’s degree from Chamberlain University’s College of Nursing (Chicago, IL), achieving the status of a family nurse practitioner.
Before joining PROVOKE Health, Cara worked as a bedside nurse in ICU departments across multiple hospital systems and as an outpatient adult primary care Nurse Practitioner for three years. A proud member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), Cara’s approach centers on a holistic and personalized model of patient care, aiming for a more profound impact on our patients’ lives and health-related outcomes.
